Was it a good day or a bad day??
Went flying yesterday. (true story)
Few people there and weather lousy. Me, I’m an amateurflyer but decided to have a go. Took off in wind to strong for me really, did a few basic aerobatics and then from behind me the already strong wind got stronger and stronger until it was seriously howling past.[:@] Then it starts to drizzle! I wear glasses, and they’re getting covered in water. [:'(]What???? Bring the heli back in and turn around and O’boy it looks like the heavens are really about to open up.[] Race back up the paddock flying the heli in front of me and just get under cover in time.
No less than three minutes later my mate takes off to fly (True story!!!) suns shinning and wind is honestly ZERO!!! [:-]What?????
Lots of people start to arrive and wind temporarily rises to around 5-10 mph. Not nice but not bad. I go out again. Do a little ground flying practicing my scale flying. Then fly forward circles around me, ½ circle, turn to fly backwards circles and out of the corner of my eye I notice a 4 foot high thistle bush. Quickly lift the heli up over it and drop it back down the other side. Hope everyone is watching. That was impress…….splat. [:'(]Straight into another one. Thistle flying everywhere. Oh the shame.[&o] Luckily it flew out the other side no damage so I finished the flight at altitude.
Good fun-great guys. Not my normal field
What a day.
Cheers
Glen
