Default tt39 tuning problems again.

When my raptor 30 gets down to about half a tank it seems to not want to climbout at all. If I richen the main needle it does sort it out but I have to richen it about 6 clicks before it takes affect. Any ideas ???

Replace your plug and fuel lines.

Check the pressure line from the exhaust for a leak. Sounds like when you get low on fuel there is not enough pressure in the tank to acheive proper flow to the carb. Also if your not, I suggest running a header tank.

Dom you think it could be the clunk lines because all of the fuel lines are new

Define new. The stock clunk lines in the raptor are trash and degrade fairly quickly, higher nitro makes them degrade faster. A couple gallons is enough to cause clunk line problems.

I'd also nix that motor and get an OS.

It could also mean that you dont have the engine rich enough to start with , heli engine has to be a lot richer than a normal 2-stroke or airplane engine.
If you have been flying heli's ,and tuning them for a while you will know what i mean. (sorry) but if you are new ,then remove needle and blow through the fuel line to remove any trash in the carb, then snug the needle back in all the way ,and back it out 2 1/4 turns or 2 1/2 then try again . I sure hope this helps . I ran my T/T engine a little lean and the rod broke , but boy what a head speed ,ended in an auto landing. I replaced mine with an Enya 35 .

tt 39 engines need to be rich on the low end, the low end needle operates up to about 80% throttle, sound to me like the engine is too lean and getting hot, but like the others have mentioned replace the clunk line because the stock one is garbage, hayes makes a really good clunk line, i have got it from heliproz in the past, i had one of these engines a while ago and like i said the low end needle needs to be very rich for this engine to run right.
