RE: Fingers or Thumbs on the Transmitter?

Those guys who drive down the road with their caps on sideways and their seat reclined 45 degrees are exceedingly comfortable, but are they high-performance drivers? I doubt it.
If you want to improve your performance you need to try different things. Some technique or posture experiments may be initially uncomfortable, but you will have to stick with it for several flights (maybe 20 or so) to gauge the real benefits or shortcomings.
I’ve been through this with thumbs, fingers, long sticks, short sticks, trays, straps, and all the stick modes. It’s been worth it and I’d do it all again.

This is true to a point. There is a fine line between comfort and performance. Those drivers you’re referring to take comfort to an extreme and sacrifice their driving performance. The point I, as well as everyone else I'm sure is to fly how you can perform most comfortably. I would bet that someone that’s comfortable will outperform/outmaneuver someone that’s uncomfortable.
