Default Robart Hinge point removal?

Any ideas on how to remove the robart hinge points used on giant scale aircraft? I have a 3 year old Giant scale TF Corsair, that I would like to recover in fiberglass, but I need to remove all the control surfaces first, and do some work on them from hanger rash. These hinges are the round ones part number #309.

Thanks for your help.

Shawn,

Cut the control surface off with wire clippers and you should be able to use a piece of sharpened brass tubing in a drill to get the point out. Another option is to cut out the wood around the hinge. You can replace this wood with a fresh piece ready to drill for the new hinges.

Shawn:

Like Mark suggested in snipping at the joint. I've done the brass tube trick and found the quickest way is to simply move the
new hinge location over 1/4 or 3/8" leaving old stud in place.
