Default Can you identify this part?

I am trying to repair a plane so that I can teach some kids at my school to fly. The plane was donated, but has one broken part. I would like to see if anyone knows what it is and especially where I can get another one.

I hope the pictures attached here... if not I will try to do it again.
Thanks
Bill R.

Hi Bill,

The part you have is called a "bellcrank" and in this application is used instead of a flexible push rod. I'm sorry I don't know where or if you can purchase this type but I would replace with a flexible "golden rod" which are freely available.

Cheers,

Colin

Thanks for the reply. Well the problem with a straight tube type would be that the connection would then wobble at the point from the fuse connection rod to the elevator. I will try to take another pic that will show it. I am really needing to re-engineer this somehow.
I'll post more pics in a few minutes.

I believe Hobby Lobby sells those.
Quite frequently it's possible to install a pushrod in a sleeve to replace one of these things.

It is a bellcrank. If the one from Hobby Lobby (?) doesn't fit/work, measure the thickness and use the old one for a pattern. Make one from AIRCRAFT ply (not lite ply). Prior to control horns, bellcranks, etc being "premade", builders typically cut them from aircraft ply and drilled 1/16" holes to attach the linkage wire/clevis into.
