Hi,
With a large 1/4 scale model to cover, mainly the front/side and top, upto rear cockpit, of a military bleriot xiB,i have been pondering which would be the best way of simulating the ali cowling and rear front section, infact alot of ali finish will be required!!,i have thought of using some 0.5mm ali sheet, but found once covered,it would add around one pound in extra weight!!,even thought of take it down further!!but that looks like hard work!!
Ive even thought about Aliclad, sold by Flair,i think it is very much like Flight metal,it looks good, but once its on,and polished up,its very easy to mark,as you may know, what i would like to know,is there away of adding some product to the finished surface, that will prevent or reduce marking etc, otherwise one is going to be very careful!!!!
Any thoughts,or ideas ,suggestions,or some other technique, would be very welcome
Many thanks
