Default Butyrate dope over Hobby Poxy?

Built a Top Flite Schoolmaster years ago but never quite finished it. Painted it with Hobby Poxy but the paint acted weird on the elevator and rudder so I sanded most of it off intending to re-shoot. Got busy with life and now have come back to the plane only to discover the original Hobby Poxy had gone bad so no re-shooting with Hobby Poxy!

I do have some Brodak butyrate dope which is very close in color. I was thinking of just shooting the Brodak straight onto the elevator and rudder. I could prime if necessary.

Anyone have any experience in applying butyrate over WELL cured but sanded Hobby Poxy? Will it stick? If not, will a coat of primer fix it?

Thank you in advance to all that can help.

The application of dope on top of a cured and sanded epoxy surface should pose no problems for you, I have doped over composite surfaces for years without a single issue to date. Anyway best of luck to you.

Thanks for the info. I'll give it a try straight onto the epoxy paint.
