I can just imagine the over spray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anything can be sprayed is thinned enough and with the proper reducer. In this case even full size brush on the cloth adhesive. I would have to wonder if there would be enough adhesive to do the job.

I use a foam brush and soak the whole air frame with balsarite for film. The Balsarite for film is very thin as it is. Are you sure you have the stuff for film and no the one for coverings with no adhesive? The Balsarite for fabric is thick like Sig Stix-it.
I learned I could use the cheap hairspray too. Just read the labels and look for lacquer and you should be good to go. I have used it on a small plane and it works pretty well.
