Here's my shop.....I call it the bomb shelter. It is a 22 x 24 room that sits under my 2 + car garage. I have to admit that it takes some getting used to the thought that there are cars sitting above me. Next I will put in a drop ceiling and then figure a better way to store the planes. Somehow they are starting to pile up!!

I had also heard to store them nose up. The reason I got was to keep whatever was left in the crankcase from sitting in the bearings which is what would happen if they were stored nose down. Is this not right???

That's one of them new "vertical" building mats. You build up instead of horizontal.... See he has the engine already to attach to the fuse.....lol

lucky people,i do all my building in my dining-room!i just made sure that when i bought a new dining table that it was big enough to take a nice big building board,i am not allowed to sand indoors though-that does make my wife shout!if houses were as cheap here in uk as they are in the states then i would have a truly impressive workshop.i have just bought a new house-try $300,000 for a 3-bed house with no garage-ouch!

Here's mine, in the basement, furnace room to be exact :
This has its pros and cons. In the winter, with the heater running, it is nice, warm and dry, only drawback is that the epoxy and glue cure
relatively quick. In the summertime, with the A/C running, it is pretty cool, sometimes so cool that the epoxy takes noticably longer to cure.
The main drawback, however, is that whenever I work with dope, or any kind of paint, the smell ( my wife says "stink") will be through the whole house, which is why by now, whenever I have to do this kind of work, I get "evicted" to the garage....
Building table, 4x8x3/4 MDF, with 4x8x3/4 plywood sheet on top, the whole thing rests on 2 sawhorses :
4x8 ft general purpose table, most of the time it is just a place where to put all the stuff, for which I am too lazy to put in it's proper place .
electrics corner, charging station

Depends on where you live here in the states. In some areas you just named the median house price. In California you couldn't get a shack for that price

I use an "empty" room in the house. It's usually very busy
looking so i don't like the thought of photographing it. My wife would use it as evidence at the trial anyway. But hopefully the judge will understand it's not my fault- it's an addiction

Here are 3 pictures of my workshop. I am now finishing off the shop with insulation and chip rock or dry wall. I will update with new pictures when I am finished.

Looks tooo good. is it a workshop or living room? I know where everything is supposed to be under the sawdust, etc. ha-ha. my wife is Outlawed from my shops. the only thing i have to worry about is Hurricanes, last bad one in 1969, Camille, we had 6'of salt water in our 5 foot raised house and that meant 11 feet in the ground floor shop. we have a H--- of a good time inbetween them. dick

My little 13x15 basement corner of the world. It was a family room for the previous owner, thats why the nice paneling and berber carpet.
Just added the counter top work benches with lights over and a couple of tables, pegboard on the wall and some shelving in the corner.
Garage is also in the basement, so very easy to load the van and head for the field. Works great......
My GP Dr.1 in need of rudder hinge repair.....again. Just can't seem to keep her off her back on landings. [sm=lol.gif]
The project in progress is my GTM 1/4 scale D8.
All things considered, it works out real well for me. [sm=thumbup.gif]

in which one do you do Brain Surgery ? I spend time looking for a knife than i use it. its uaually in a one of 3 buildings , or the other one. thats why duplicates are bought. dick

Pete, I really like your building board. Did you plane it, and make it yourself to get it flat? Are you using ceiling tiles? I use them, cuz I get them from work for free. Can't beat that.
