Any suggestions of the best way of removing very old monocote from a wing? What is on there now is so old that it cracks under slight pressure and falls of in small pieces.
Thanks, Jim

Jim:
Try your heat gun and a pair of pliers or exacto to lift film.
Wow that is old stuff. Never have seen covering that brittle.
You will still have to sand off some film from LE & TE.

To Randy, thank for your input. Yes it is really old monocote on the plane. How about this plane has been on storage for approx. 20 to 25 years!
But I think this little guy still wants to FLY.
Thanks, Jim

Randy, I saw that you had some suggestions for removing very old monocote. Would the same apply if I am removing monocote that is not old? I am getting ready to strip a Sig Cap 231 and do not want to dameage anything. Should I use heat to remove or do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks,Bill
