aircraftspruce.com will have the foam you want if you can not find it. Also check http://www.fiberglassspecialtiesinc.com/ for glass stuff. There are others too. I get the model foam from my lumber yard but order foam for my full scale bird from aircraft spruce. They are good. You can get it in blocks that will do what you want. An 8 x 16 x 32 block is about $30 in the catalog I have, but it is a couple years old. Check them out on line. Might be more than you want to spend on foam.

Pink foam will work the same as blue foam... they're both extruded polystyrene foams. There's also grey and green out there and it's colored for product identification purposes. There are also different densities available... for a cowl, if I were making a one-off, I'd shape the foam, put a finish on it, fiberglass it, and chop/dissolve the original foam out... going that way it makes absolutely no difference which styrene foam you use.
BTW, I get my foam from a concrete company... they use it in various thicknesses for concrete forms and insulation.

Most Lowes and Home Depot stores carry blue foam. Concrete people would also know where to get blue foam in your area, its mostly used for insulation around foundations.
