A quick disconnect for what? If you are looking for an easy way to attach the hatch cover that can be removed quickly, use rare earth magnets. I have used them on everything from electrics up to a 1/6 scale .91 sized Biplane and have never had one fail. They hold like crazy and can be removed easily. You can get them at Radio Shack. If that is not what you are asking about, then disregard!

The magnets work good. You can also make a latch using a T pin and a spring from a ball point pen.

I use magnets that I get from the local craft outlet. Cheaper and MUCH stronger than the Radio Crap ones. I use 2 of the small ones to hold on the cowel of my 96" old timer. Either way, there's nothing simpler than the magnets,

Try this website: [link=http://scitoys.com/cgi-bin/shop.exe?page=magnet_desc.html&QX=0a&SID=959022865&something_to_remember_me_by_an_bye_and_bye&]scitoys.com[/link]

I think they ship anywhere. The prices aren't way out of line either.

Hope this helps...

If you take the time to fit it correctly, try Velcro...

Do you think the magnets would work on a 170 mph racing plane??

If the hatch is properly designed, yes.

If you are worried about a 170MPH plane and you need some extra magnetic strength, try taking apart a hard drive from a computer (SCSI works the best) and using those magnets. I guarentee that they will hold. IDE drives would probably work better as the SCSI magnets might hold a little too well.

Try the BVM hatch latch available from bvmjets.com. It is made from carbon fiber and is spring loaded. I have never had a hatch come off.

I looked at the scitoys website. They have lots of sizes, anyone want to share their experience? I am trying to hold down some hatches on a twin engine duelist, or a twinstar.

Thanks,

Tim
