Default canopy problem

I usualy paint my canopys on my airplanes black, Im not a big fan of using pilots, anyway this time I thought Id use a metalic silver on my latest kit. I was always told to paint the inside of the canopy, so that what i do, well this time when I scuffed the surface with some sand paper I apparently scuffed a little to deep because when i applied the paint it didn't fill the sanding marks, and from the outside of the canopy it looks really bad. My question is should I replace the canopy or will it be ok to paint the outside? Any suggestions would be greatly appriceated!

Painting the outside will be fine as long as you use fuel proof paint.

I painted one on the outside. I painted black inside and outlined with silver on the outside. It looked great. A year later it curled up around the edges. I was told it was from the paint on the outside. Since I have painted 20 others black inside with no problems, I guess thats the cause.
