I did a little searching but didn't find any thing about a spray paint that is readily available that matches the ultracote.
Been wantinig to try ultracote covering but would like to know what to use for paint to match?
Any suggestions?
THANKS

Ultrapaint if you can find any. Horizon is apparently not handling it anymore.
Orapaint (same stuff) if you speak German and want to order "off shore". You might try some US people that sell Oracover (same as Ultracoat) to see if they can also get Orapaint. North East Sailplanes might be a starting point.

Just a suggestion.

From what I read at the NELSON site, it sounds like their paint is pretty good. I couldn't find any paint on the sailplane site.
I got rid of all my airbrush stuff a while back.(regret it now)
Trying to remember the types of places that fill spray cans locally.
The perfect paint may be the way to go for me if it works any better than the lusterkote, which wouldn't take much.
Thanks for your resources.

I have had great success with Top Flite Lustre Kote available at the Hobby Town and many independant stores. It has worked well matching red and yellow for me.

I have always used lustre kote in the past, but I've never been 100% satisfied with the results that often varied.
I am aware that ambient condtions factor in and have always made great attempts to meet these conditions where I have had the best results. unfortunately these results vary widely from can to can.
I didn't know that lustre kote had a few colors that matched ultracote.
THANKS.

TRUE RED SEEMS TO BE HARD TO MATCH. I FOUND THAT REGATTA RED FROM LOWE'S IN THEIR BRAND "ONE AND ONLY" MATCHES PERFECT. IT COMES IN A SPRAY CAN FOR $1.99 CANT BEAT THAT. OTHER COLORS MAY MATCH AS WELL, BUT HAVE ONLY TRIED THE TRUE RED/ REGATTA RED.

THE TRUE RED IS AN ULTRACOTE COLOR. THAT DOES'NT SAY YOU CANT TRY IT WITH THE MONOCOTE. USE A SCRAP PIECE TO TEST IT. I CANT SAY FOR SURE IF ITS NITRO PROOF, AS I DONT FLY GLOW. HAVE'NT IN 15 YEARS.

From: Bay Area, CA,
I am interested in finding out info on the Yellow paint/Ultrakote as well.
Any updates on this? and does anyone know if the Chevron paints are a good match to the Ultrakote yellow?
I have a cowl and fuse cap that I will need to paint yellow to match the model and am looking for the best match possible.
Thanks!

I work about 10 miles from Sheldons so it would be a quick jaunt down there to pick up the paint.
Please let me know how it turns out.
Thanks,
Ted

Krylon Yellow is an almost perfect match for Ultracote yellow (as close as you would get from an Ultracote rattle can). If you are using glow fuel you will need to clear coat it though.
