Default filling the weave

Have heard about but not tried:

Applying lightweight silkspan or tissue on top of the silk. Apply with dope. Will then fill very fast, is much lighter and prevents the dope from soaking all the way through the silk.

Default filling the weave

I would think this would be heavier than the traditional thinned dope & talc?

Just use the tissue to apply the dope. Drag the tissue across the fabric surface while wetting the tissue with a brush. This kind of lays the filler onto the fabric instead of being brushed into the fabric.
