There's plenty written on this at RCU. Do a search in the beginners section and you'll find tons of info........

Either carefully sand the heavier blade, without changing the airfoil, or spray the lighter blade with some clear paint.

I think you can get away with anything. There is not much chance of getting a prop soaked with fuel, unless you are flying backwards.......

I use lacquer most of the time, it dries very fast. Just use it sparingly, it doesn't take much to balance a prop.

Try painting both tip a bright color (I use white) then put additional paint on the lighter side. This gives a very visible arc and will help you stay clear of the prop. when engine is running. Paint should be fuel proof as with the clear method, urethane would be fine if not water based .

Yes, if you use a color, use white. I have tried several colors including fluorescent but the white is the best.

/thanks for all the great tips on prop balance. Now I am up against mounting a saito gk80 on a sig senior arf. Yea I know maybe a Little too much but as they saying goes bigger is better. I like it that way . what I am concerned about is mounting the cowl . when engine is in center position to fit cowl , my center line on the tank is maybe 1/2 " lower than the centerline on the carb. The saito manual recommends that the tank be mounted 5 mm lower than the carb center.,anyone that has tips on this type of installation would be greatly appreciated. thank for all the advice guys.
