Hey Dave,
How many do you find that are much out of balance?

I've never felt it was important, and I'm one that checks balance on all my props. I figured the mass was so close to the center of axis it wouldn't give much of a problem.

(Now that I think about it, I must not be very bright. )

Hey, I just spent a half hour balancing two aluminum ones. One was a Dave Brown, the other a Great Planes that came with the Skybolt. Both were out enough that I'm sure there will be an obvious improvement next time out. Neither one showed a strong vibration so far. The Skybolt was flying about 3 hours ago and I did feel the new OS61 wasn't really starting to pull full strength yet. I bet it will do better Monday.

The little details are almost always worth doing. And always take less time than expected.

....I don't know of anyone who makes a balancer for really big spinners. []

....I've never seen a spinner or backplate that was balanced.

FBD.
