I have a 3 CH, 2 axis foam parkflyer which I should like to upgrade to 3 axis by the addition of ailerons. I really need help on almost all of the conversion ie. what size should the ailerons be (I believe about 20% chord)? When I cut out aileron do I need to add stiffen the rear part of wing in which aileron sits? How best do I hinge the ailerons given a 40 " span?. How do I run out the control wires to the servo(s)? (Should I just route out a slot , put in a guide tube and refill).
Should I use 1 servo and long control rods to each aileron or one servo in each wing?
Any other suggestions and guidance would be appreciated

It looks like your request drew no response. so I'll offer my humble opinion. Since this a small foamie, the hinge material best suited to the job is clear packaging tape. Put the tape on the top side of the wing centered on the hinge point. 20% of the chord is probably more than you need unless you are looking for extreme flight capabilities. Don't bother with individual servos for each wing, the weight will be a big disadvantage and you don't need the power for a small and light foamie.

A little late here, but just in case.
I tryed using the wire with the flex tubing. I did not work, trying to make a sharp bend just did not work for me. I made two small mounting blocks out of balsa, about 1/16 thick. I epoxied the blocks over the servo cups I cut out of the wing.I then mounted two servos in the wing, one for each aileron. You are basically counter sinking the servos in the wing and using the balsa as a way to hold them in place.
