How to Secure Nyrod in Firewall?
#2

My Feedback: (21)
RTV, silicon sealer sticks to the plastic outer housing of the ny-rod, and will secure
it to the firewall. Next time, use a smaller hole, so the ny-rod is tight to begin with.
The sealer will help hold it, and will prevent any fuel or oil from getting into the plane
as well.

I use Sullivan Gold n Rods a lot since I build mostly 40 size plans. My usual is the sand (very important) and CA method but I have used a hot melt glue gun to hold it.

Sand it first, then epoxy or CA will stick to it fine.

Fit needs to be tight, so if you have to make the hole larger to allow a straight run for the throttle cable, make a doubler of 1/8 thick ply with a tight hole in it - CA to firewall over the larger hole. The doubler method also works well to stabilize a long run of nyrod..
Cheers!
