As fate would I have it, a 20+mph gust at the field grabbed the loose wing of my son's Sig Mid-Star and ran it right into the corner of a cement block, puncturing the monokote. As this event could have been interpreted as an omen (high winds, don't fly idiot!) and not having a roll of packaging or any other tape, we were about to call it a day. At that moment, I looked at the clear zip lock baggie that houses the field and AMA licenses on the side of my flight box, and there was the solution. Always carry a roll of clear tape...the wide stuff (and something to cut it with).
