Home Depot, aka The Man Store, carries a variety of interior doors that will work fine. I have gone through 3 of their Luan Mahogany doors (hollow core, interior doors). They run less than $30 and are straight and smooth. I usually put ceiling tiles (celotex) on top of the door so I can pin my sticks to it easily. I know some of the guys use drywall, but my old fingers aren't what they used to be, and celotex is much easier on the ancient digits.

They have used building supplies like kitchen cabinets and doors. I have seen steel doors at the one in Mesa,Az. This is all used so you might have to look at it carefully but you will save a bunch.

I got lucky and found a cosmetically damaged interior door at Lowes. They turned down my offer to haul it off for $5, but the manager proposed to sell i4t to me for $5.00. Despite the change of furtune, I accepted his proposal.

Undamaged, it was a $35 door (hollow core).
