Putting together a Duraplane 20 w/25OS and have 2-1/2 mains and need to know the size of the tailwheel to add.
Is there a percentage relationship between the mains and tailwheel?

Mostly depends on the sizes you have available. Around here we have 3/4", 1" and 1-1/4." I suppose you could snip off the tires and use the rim only is you wanted smaller.

My Feedback: (13)
I have 3 1/4 " Mains with a 1" tailwheel (It hardly sets on the ground anyway, just there to keep the tail from getting buggered up on the flight line.)
So what ever you can get and like is fine. You can sometimes help balance the plane by getting bigger and heavier or smaller and lighter wheels!!

When figuring the size of tailwheel to use with the main gear I always use the "TLAR" principle - which stands for, "That Looks About Right"!
