Take a sample of the Ultracote covering to a local automotive parts supply that mixes automotive paint in a
spray can and have them match the Ultracote color. I've been doing this for the last several years and you
end up with a great color match up. You will also need to ask them for a clear coat which will provide the
appropriate fuel proof protection. <input type="hidden" id="gwProxy"></input><input type="hidden" id="jsProxy" onclick="jsCall();" />

You can take a piece of covering and have a quart of latex mixed for an exact match for about $10. Latex will need to be clear coated if you are using a glow engine - gasoline engines, the paint fine as is

I had the same problem matching Ultrcote Bright Yellow. I started with the Ultracote spray paint it didn't even come close. I went with a bright yellow Krylon it looked closer to Cub Yellow. I would recomend the latex custom mix I think it will be the closest you will come.

Thanks for all the help. I tried Testors enamel spray paint #1214 (High gloss yellow). It matched perfectly! I plan on giving it a coat of lustercote clear to fuel proof it.

I just used LustreKote Flat Clear over my Skyraider that had Tamiya Paint in the can. It worked fine, but you have to to with two light coats of clear andDO NOTshoot theclearcoat heavy!

Two light coatswill "soften" the color paint for about 12 hours to a day, then set up just fine. A heavy clear coat will melt the color paint and you will get wrinkles/cracks.

I don't know ifTamiya sprayis the same paint as Testors spray, but I used some Testors brushed on paint with the same result.

Just test out the paint on a scrap first and see what happens.

For my clear canopy, I even used flat black Tamiya paint for the base coat of the frame because it grabbed the lexan great. Then used LustreKote paint for the color of the frame and fuel proofing. It worked great.

Good Luck
