You have to swap the two outer pot wires as well as the motor wires

Here is a diagram. Even thought it is from Hitec, it works for Futaba analog servos - I do this with my Futaba servos frequently.

Different brands of servos rotate in opposite directions with the same input; for instance Hitec and Futaba rotate in opposite directions.

I'd love to know the situation that requires you to reverse a servo.

The typical reversed servo situations are
[*]Flaps - if you want the linkage on the servo of the other wing to be symmetrical[*]Twin elevator servos often require the servo on the other side to be reversed to keep the linkage the same but mirrored[/list]There is a definite need for JR sells reversed servos off the shelf

I guess I'm kinda dumb, but every one of those situations can be handled by simply moving the linkage to the opposite side of the servo arm.

You must not be aware of the geometrical effects of circular motion points?

Rodney: I have 49 years of modeling experience and w8eye I am very aware of Geometrical effects of circular motion all of which can be compensated by properly aligned linkages. I will admit that I am not a competition flyer and may not be sensitive to that level of control sensitivity, but as a sport flier I have never had a problem.

These reversed servo's are for the hangar 9 F22 Raptor and P51 Marie Mustang and are for the Flaps
they cost approx. 19.00 a piece and are required per Hangar 9 due to the way the flaps are setup
i have extra servos laying around and thought i could save alittle money to buy stuff for my T/F Corsair kit
yes i am a little inexperienced thats why i ask questions to get answers from experienced people,
dumb, a little thats why i ask questions before i act
we all were a little inexperienced at one time
i do appreciate all the info and thank you all very much

Dual elevator servos mounted on the fuse very close to the bottom of the stab leave you with little room to move one of the control horns to the other side of the servo. One servo will have to be reversed. Very common situation. Love the modern radios compared to the KPS-14 servos and figuring out what the melted-in dot represented!

Just get the Expert Brand Servo reversing Y-harness from H9.

I have a couple that I use on elevators but they would work well on flaps also

JR is now selling reversed servo's.

http://searchrc.horizonhobby.com/ind...d=12404F6F342F

But to keep my planes a little lighter, I just buy a Servo reverser. I have this one in my Seagull Extra.

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXAFN1&P=7

And did I mention they were a tad cheaper?

Horizon's Expert series of servo reverser's are a fraction of the price of those at Tower Hobbies.

JR has had reversed servos for some time

Some one please correct me here if I'm up in the night.
BUT it is my understanding that Fubar servos run in the opposite direction as standard JR servos. SO if thread originator ponied up the bucks for JR Reversed Servos to run in a Fubar system wouldn't they run the same direction as the Fubar Servos did in the first place?

Since you already have plenty of 3004s it doesn't make a lot of sense (to me) to buy a different brand servo that rotates the opposite direction.

I doubt my ability to do the soldering that Steve posted, so, I'd just buy the $9 reversing y harness that w8ye referenced.

Those servo reversing harnesses are cool, nice to use, and cheap, but they have one serious problem. They "drift" with temperature changes. I have one of these on my 1/4 scale Giles 202. When indoors with the air conditioning, the elevator halves are misaligned by a good 1/4". When I take the airplane outside and it warms up, the elevator slowly moves due to the temperature change until the elevator halves are equal. (Assuming in both cases that the radio is on.)

(It was hot in my workshop when I set up my elevator alignment, that's why the elevator halves are aligned only when the airplane is warm.)

Best way is to get a JR servo if you don't feel comfortable reversing the Futaba servo. The Futaba 3004 servos do not use wires to the potentiometer. You have to unsolder the pot from the circuit board, rotate it 180 degrees, and then solder it back in. It's a little tricky if you aren't good with soldering on circuit boards.

I have heard of other people having this same problem with the reversing "Y" connectors...

A word of caution , I use the servo reverse Y miracal connections from Maxx product , usully found on line for about $16 .00 . I wanted this for all the reasons menthioned above and keeping my pushrods on my flaps in a more scale position . This Y harness does not feature a noise restrictor /amplfyer
Anyway when useing the new 2.4 systems make sure your Y harness does not have a NOISE restrictor /amplfyer this will creat interferance with the new 2.4 systems .
This is fact not urban legend and can be asked of your local Horison contact .
I found this out while building my FW190
