I designed and builted these boxes about 25 yrs ago. They have been very durable. Back then I built and sold about 27. However I do not enjoy building any more. Now I am working on a set of plane for the box. Some friends of mine want one of the boxes. We are going to cut out six or seven ( It is a lot easier to cut them out in multiples). The guys getting the new boxes are going to do the assembly. With my guidance. I think the actual cost of materials will be less $30.00. I am going to try and make a set of assembly Dwgs. I hope I am that good of a draftsmen. We'll see. This box is varnished with boat varnish. Hot fuel or chemicals like acetone will not touch the finish. The right side open space will now have two drawers, one over the other. Large enough for things like field chargers. The back side of the box will have fold outs to hold a small wing. Thanks Lee I will put up some other photos in a few days. Look at this idea. Remember how much fun is to install the brass eyelets into the servo grommets. And have you ever had to take a brass eyelet out of the grommet after it has been there for a while. Like when you damage a servo case in a crash and need to install a new case. Slide the eyelet onto the small end of this device and insert the eyelets into the bottom of the grommet very easy on the thumbs. Need to remove the eyelet. Just push on the eyelet from the top and this device will push it out. And if you don't have the servo drill template just install the servo into the servo tray and push through the eyelet with the pointed end of the device and now you have a punch mark for the drill to follow. I am very interesting in your offer. I will email you some sketches in a few days. You asked earlier about the legs. I have included a sketch (not Completed of the legs and the support that they are mounted on). |
