WORKING WITH STYROFOAM!

Are there any special techniques, gluing methods, carving, shaping, building, and fusing techniques for making things out of styrofoam?
Ex. wing , fuselage, and stabilizer making tips? Basically the whole 50 yards. Foam can be very tricky and I am making an electric foam glider so before I make it I would like to know what techniques to use and problems to avoid;)

Thanks, Shredder111[>:]

Guys use a hotwire for cutting foam. I've done it freehand on tail feathers and a set of floats I made.

Polyurethane glue is best for wood to foam glueing

For carving, I like the disposable utility knives with the snap off blade. Brand new, and you have a 3 inch razor to cut with.

Carving and shaping as well as cutting of thick styrofoam is easily accomplisted with your wifes electric carving knife.... Ask me how I know... Then ask me how long I paid for that one

Some photos of the cowl for a Cessna, made by caving and sanding 1/2" blue foam stacked to size, glassed, dissolved the core with gasoline after the epoxy cured.
