i was just running my Revo 3.3 the other day and when i was finished i noticed a odd grayish oil coming out of the seams of my ez start. i cannot figure out what it is unless there is a leak in the ez start and it is filled with oil for the gears on the inside. the traxxas website has nothing on an ez start oil. if anyone knows anything about this it would be greatly appreciated b/c the oil is making a mess out of my truck and my engine.

The EZ start is not filled with oil. This is residual oil from the fuel. You are probably running pretty rich. Also, some fuels contain more oil than others. Traxxas fuel is known to contain lots of oil.

Yeah it's just from fuel, but if it's grey then you may be ruining your engine, because grey usually means aluminum.

oil seeps out into the easy start area and gets on the gears which after turning in the gears will turn it gray.
it definitely could mean it's a little rich but then again i've never had a pull/roto start that didn't have a little oil residue from the engine either brand new or used.
i wouldn't sweat it.

ok this is good.  b/c i didnt think that the ez start was filled with oil.  to solve this problem i will lean the engine out a little.
