I just looked at tower and they have quarts of 33% top fuel for 11.99

So that means, one store will have it for about 10, another prolly 12, and the closest about 16.

so 20% runs cooler than 5% THAT WOULD EXPLANE why i drop from 40deg. when i put in the 20%. by the way my normal operating temp is 350-360 (i have double checked with 4 different 1/100 degre thermomiters. but i might try the 33%. will tower ship nitro to california?

Tower can ship a quart without the hazard tax.

Big deal, just get some 30% heli fuel and your engine will run great and last much longer. Cost is 20 bucks or less per gallon.

BTW, higher nitro doesn't mean cooler temps. You cannot generate more power without generating more heat-to do so violates basic laws of thermodyanmics. People who run higher nitro don't lean their engines as much because the higher nitro allows same or more power to be generated at a richer mixture ratio.

plus this fuel is made by traxxas FOR these engines so it wont void the warranty.

it DOESNT matter what fuel you run as long as you ran the truck the warranty is gone unless you meen the engine warranty it doesnt matter for that either

your wrong i reckon traxxas will replace any product they deem is under warranty as long as your warranty isnt expired, provided you sent it in.

EDIT- and accualy traxxas can cancel the warranty if you used any other type of fuel other than top fuel.

exaxtly, the engine is under warranty IF and aonly IF you use traxxas top fuel. If you ever experiance a factory error nad u use say odonnel,. then it is NOT under warranty. Sounmds like a scam to make more money, but as long it is under warranty i think i will try this as soon as i get my rebuilt engine back

I am curious at how Traxxas will know what kind of fuel you used without going through some extreme like taking a sample of the fuel deposit on the engine and send it to the lab?

On the side note, I could not find what the percentage of lubrication Traxxas put in their fuel. Does anyone know what it is?

The Top fuel has a blue dye in it, so if you send the engine in for anything and there isnt any blue residue inside the engine they know top fuel has not been used.

i thought traxxas only recommended 10% or 20% fuel for all their vehicles, so why are they now making 33%? they seem to be contradicting themselves by saying never use over 20% and then making 33%

I think since you see a lot of racers using odonnels 30% and stuff like that with higher than 20% nitro fuels they want to compete with them, and the revo was designed with racing in mind.

The warranty talked about is against defects once you finish break in or start it up you basically have no warranty because if they replaced every engine they would go broke, since most of the engine problems stem from overheating caused by mistuning or air leaks. If you have a legitimate problem with your engine you call Traxxas get an RMA # and send it in, if they deem it necessary but it is totally at their discretion. They are being very flexible with the Revo because they don't want a bad rep with a new vehicle. Secondly any time I have taken my engine apart there is no "blue residue" and if they deem work on your engine is needed they will not reject because of a particular brand of fuel. They also recommend richening the HSN roughly 3/4 of a turn when switching from 20% to 33%, so you are richening your mixture to compensate for the higher nitro.
