RE: im smokin
Are they the stock titans? if they BOTH smoked, wow. Which ever one smoked, throw it out, they are now junk. But what could have caused it... hard to say. Depends on:
Age
Use
Batteries
Driveline binding
etc
If you drive it in tall grass, always keep it in second gear, or do LOTS of stop-go driving, that can easily get any brushed motor smoking. If you had strong, 7-cell batteries, that immense power could have fried them. Some motors dont like that higher voltage. If you gave it alot of throttle while the trucks tires couldnt move, the motors would surly go up in smoke very fast.
I've had the same problem with 6-cell batteries along time ago. The motors were old to begin with, and after i cleaned them, i punched the throttle, and the motors just went up in smoke. It was just their time...
You can buy replacement titans from www.towerhobbies.com or you can use Johnson motors, which you can find on ebay, or www.allelectronics.com for really cheap.
