Machined 2.5 Block?
i don't know if anyone makes one but i know i'd love to get my hands on one. it would be alot stronger and probably run cooler since machined aluminum wouldn't trap heat as much as cast aluminum. not to mention it would look sharp as hell. if anyone can see why this wouldn't work please let me know. and if anyone makes a machined 2.5 block please let me know that too!

RE: Machined 2.5 Block?
noone makes one... If they did, it would cost more then we could afford. It would take a 5 axis machine and a LOT of work to make one, not to mention consistency in MFG AND billet lots...
Casting is all there is for now...
Actually, does anyone in the world make a CNC block for nitro RC's? I have never heard of one for ANY cars. I just don't think it is practical.

RE: Machined 2.5 Block?
Don't get your logic.
How do you know that cast aluminum has significantly different heat dissapation/retention properties than cast? I doubt it does.
And if it DOES, I think you're reversed. I THINK you assume that cast aluminum is LESS dense than billet stock (probby true). If so, it machined aluminum would RETAIN heat longer and take longer to heat up/cool down. I'd think you'd want FASTER temp changes, not slower!!
