RE: New direct REVO drop in .28!!!!
I saw the new Trinity .28 drop in at the Chicago Hobby Show yesterday.
Looked very nice, dunno if it was with one of their aftermarket heads or stock, but the head was very cool (satin finish or something).
I asked the guy who made it for them, and he claimed it was 'THEIR' engine. I dunno if it IS an exclusive design or not, but I'm pretty sure trinity isn't casting their own nitro engines.

RE: New direct REVO drop in .28!!!!
thats like taking the engine out of a dragster and putting it into a civic. there is not enough suspension tuning or lead weight in the world that will keep the front end down on that truck. and thats IF the tranny holds up.[]

Also ... why is the .28 cheaper then the .23? i want the most bang for my buck and it would seem that more displacement=more power. and the stock exhaust i'm sure wont be enough for the big block, where do you get the larger systems? thanks

The .28 is not an Italian made engine! The .28 is the same as the FR Fantom .27 Wasp and these engines you can get on Ebay. The only difference is the heads. There is nothing wrong with them at all just not the high end stuff from Italy!

RE: New direct REVO drop in .28!!!!
Certainly is things wrong with the Toki based engines. Fantom, Power Racing Products, Team Infinity, WASP, Orion .27 and .28's are all made in Japan by Toki. unfortunately you'd be shocked how many people are having longevity and durability issues with these engines.
Do a search for Fantom .27 and do some reading...sounds like most of them are wearing out by gallon 2 or poor assembly tolerances.

RE: New direct REVO drop in .28!!!!
I have the Fantom .27 and it is running great (2 1/2+ gallons)! It holds a tune with the best of them and is super easy to start. I have found in most cases but not all, that people that are having engine problems from not starting to blowing up before it should is from not knowing how to tune an engine properly. How many times a day do you see a thread asking "why won't my engine start" or "my engine dies all the time". I just did a search and went through 7 pages of threads and can't seem to find many post about problems with this engine?? I see tons of post saying they love it!

RE: New direct REVO drop in .28!!!!
I am not 100% sure that there are not any mods to it but, they seem to have the same crank case design and if they are all you would need to drop in just about any .21+ is that header and a pipe that will fit

RE: New direct REVO drop in .28!!!!
I hate it when they say direct replacment, yes it fits right in place but then you have to stop your tranny falling to bits under the strain of the big engine. From what i heard the 2.5 in this produces some nice power and it goes well on a race track.

RE: New direct REVO drop in .28!!!!
here are some pics for those who are interested....by the way the engine on horizon is obviously JUST the engine... (dont think it comes with a starter of any kind)
and the guy at the stand didnt know how much the shaft start was going to cost. (i assume engine dosnt come with the header either?)
here are a few pics.... first one shows that the arms DO clear the exhaust pipe (i know a few of us were wondering as it looked close to hitting, and it is...)
i must say i do like the look of the engine (as mentioned above, its like a stain finish) but i DEFINATELY do NOT care for trinities revo bumpers! (must be the cheesiest things ever....first off u dont put annodized aluminum on the front/rear of ur truck, it will get trashed instantly...secondly... the whole skull thing is hideous! )
