Default .18 for T-Maxx?

Been looking through Tower Hobby for the .18 motor for my T-Maxx. Which one will bolt in and give best performance?

Is a .18 motor gonna a big advantage over the stock 2.5r motor?

ok guys, ill help you out on this one.
If youre looking for a .18 engine, and dont wanna do alot of work... get [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHLW0&P=ML]this engine[/link] its a direct drop in, and produces MASSIVE power. Plus its very easy to tune and very reliable.
Engine is called the OS .18 TM.
Dont worry about the price, you can get one on e b a y for much, much less.
Hope this was of some help!

Agreed. I will pitch my pesky P2 for a easier tuning OS .18TM soon.

I had an '03 Fantom FR18, and it was a great motor. Definately quite a bit more powerful than the 2.5, fairly inexpensive for a race motor, and very reliable. Never owned or saw an O.S. .18 run, but I'd recommend an FR18 just because it's $70 less. And also, I know you specifically said .18ci, but if your going to spend $200 on an engine, why not just get the Picco .21 ($180 2.38HP) instead of the O.S. 18TM ($220 1.6-2HP)?

Bottom line is the FR18 is a great motor cause it's relatively cheap, very reliable, and very fast. Also bolts right in, and uses the EZ-start or trx2.5 pull start.

have fun [sm=thumbup.gif]

He does not want to have to replace the rest of the drivetrain?
Likes his EZ start?

The OS TM is a great DIRECT drop-in motor and like most all things is more expensive for a reason. I have never seen a motor hold a tune, hold and idle, and run like a bat out of hell. The OS TM does.

How much horsepower does the stock 2.5r produce?

Stock HP for the 2.5R is about 1.3, max. Whereas the TM is a conservative 1.6 HP (the least you will get out of it)

[link=http://www.osengines.com/reviews/osmz2110-dynotest-rcnitro.pdf]The TZ is rated at 1.8 HP but when tested they got 2.28 out of it.[/link] OS knows how to build motors.
