Big Block Conversion
I have a question.
Would i be able to pick up a big block conversion chassis like the racers edge lightweight chassis and use that instead of picking up a 150 dollar conversion and 200 engine

RE: Big Block Conversion
You should check out www.atomrcproducts.com their fastlane machine .21 conversion is fairly cheap, but it is also really really light and super strong. Fastlane has a replacement warranty as well. if something breaks, they replace it.

I got my Dynamite Mach 26 conversion kit with motor for $200.00 from LHS. trchobby.com he might be able to get another one. I would think he would be able to ship one to you.

RE: Big Block Conversion
Still way out of my price range lol.
I was hoping for maybe like a 30 dollar big block engine mount to go straight into the stock t-maxx so that i can mount .21 or higher

RE: Big Block Conversion
It looks like that mount will work. I see they have the engine mounting holes located farther back then normal. As far as the motor goes there are several good choices just depends on how much money you want to spend!!!

RE: Big Block Conversion
Not to burst your bubble, but you need an extended chassis for just about any big block mount from new era. I bought their big block mount, and it made the engine sit too far towards the tranny, making it not even able to line up with the bolt holes it was so bad. I had a custom mount made, and im sure i could hook you up, but you need an extended chassis for it.

RE: Big Block Conversion
Take the chance and call New Era models, see what they say. My first big block Tmaxx I used the stock chassis, however I had a motor mount machined and also had to have a header built to clear the shock tower. It can be done but I would try to save your money for a conversion kit. Makes life so much easier.

RE: Big Block Conversion
I was thinking about getting that picco .21 built for the t-maxx in a small block displacement and it accepts the e-z start however i might not use it.

RE: Big Block Conversion
Direct bolt in will save alot of trouble. Ive had 2 Picco motors, they both ripped! A little finicky when it comes to tuning but nothing you shouldnt be able to figure out.
