Default rb concepts 23 or picco 26 max

hi i was just woundering what you guys think of these engines. Im thinking about getting one of these for my revo when i get some £££'s heres what i figured are the good points and bad points of both the engines

RB concepts 23 max
-Comes with manifold, bb exaust and mount
-heard lots of good things about this engine
-smaller engine to the picco 26

Picco 26 max
-Better HP and displacement than the rb 23
-only just came out so no reviews/opinions
-not sure if it will screw up my trans
-needs motor mount

any info will be much appreciated

I would think that a .26 would be to much on the tranny. seeing that it has plastic gears to save weight. I have the TM 18 by O.S. in mine and it rips. I have heard that the TZ18T by O.S. is even faster than the TM. I been thinking of trying the SIRIO S23. It should be plenty of power for what ever come along.

Will tear up the trans. Smaller doesn't necessarily mean less power.

Will also tear up the trans. Better HP? -says who? Dyno sheets mean very little to me.

If you don't want to dump boatloads of money on heavy steel drivetrain stuff, go with an .18 since both of these engines will definitely require some serious drivetrain work to be "somewhat" reliable.

Just my .02

Your OS .18 on your REVO, I have heard alot of good things about this engine. Is it really that much better than the stock. Being almost 3 times the cost of the stock engine (on ebay), I was told that it only produced alittle more power that the stock engine. Also, that it will only benefit racers becuase it may add that extra second to there time.

ratman572 Your OS .18 on your REVO,........
No revo, no OS .18

I run a Sirio .23 t-maxx.

On the price/performance of the OS .18's, -this is just my opinion, but nothing runs more consistant than an OS, -period.

if you dont have a revo and have no experience with either one of these engines in a revo how do you know it will tear up the trans? And the picco max 26 has just came out.

One of the locals has a sirio .23 in a revo (same engine as the RB for the most part), and has had several issues with the trans.

And not that it matters, but I have that engine in a maxx, -and I have had lots and lots of trans issues.

If the picco .26 supposedly has more power than the .23 (assuming it does), then it would also likely stress the trans even more than the .23 in the revo, -and especially in the maxx.

Take it for whatever it's worth......................
