Revo optidrive????
Ok here it is. My optidrive module died. Just get the red light and no throttle.( yes the batteries r good) I orderd the FOC. Will it hurt anything or is there a possibility of the transmission goin into reverse if i disconect the module and disconect the reverse servo untill I get the FOC? It makes sence to me that it wouldnt hurt anything but just wanted some feedback from someone else....THX

If you have no throttle with the module in how are you going to have throttle with it out. I would suggest just stayin the hell away from "******-riggin" it. You could do damage elsewhere. Better to let it sit until you get the new module rather than breakin anything else and having to wait on that part. Make any sense?

I tried reprograming it. The red light stays on regaurdless what I do. I think water was the culprit. Hit a couple of puddles today, nothing deep tho.. Think its ok to run w/everything disconnected but the linkage? thx

RE: Revo optidrive????
I'd just leave it alone. That is my own personal opinion but still, I'd just be patient. I hear that that is the only problem with the revo is the module gettin wet. I just bagged mine today because I went muddin with mine. You should see it! Mud all over it. Only got stuck once when I got high centered on a rock I couldn't see. That's how deep the water was lmao. I am seriously trying to think of a way to make my revo 100% submersible. I think it would be kool to see a revo pull up to some water, drive till there was nothin but two lil snorkels up in the air, and then drive out. I don't know if I will get around to it though. I am pretty sure it would be an extensive project and if it ever did fail...........................Lot of ****ed up stuff.

OK Here it is I know you dont want to here this but I tried it... All seems well after a few minute rin in the driveway....Didnt get into 2nd gear but it seems ok. If U think about it all the module is,is a speed control that controlls a mechanical linkage to shift it into reverse.Take out the module and leave the linkage and presto....foreward only. The conversion will ber here mon or tues. Cant use reverse for racin anyway.
Afterburn I think u should scrap the idea od goin under water...Why U ask....Why go nder when U can go OVER...Yeah..paddle tires geared for serious speed...New slaes pitch "REVO that walks on water" Watcha think huh huh huh? I say U do it first and Ill think about it...lol

RE: Revo optidrive????
from my research on the thing-a-jigger is it senses the movement and will not let the doo-hicky shift into reverse/ forward which ever way yer goin'. also it will not wot in reverse bummer. the direction say something about not being able to drive that fast in reverse anyway. lol i got real driving in reverse when my dog got tired of being chased. he turned around, i stop he tried to take a bite i hit reverse and the dam dog caught it.

RE: Revo optidrive????
You can run without the Opti-Drive, you just don't want to shift from forward to reverse while moving or you will break lots of stuff in your tranny. Mine quit last week and I got a new one on e-bay for short money. I ran without it for a few days with no problems.

RE: Revo optidrive????
You can run without it just make sure it can't shift into reverse. Stabilize the linkage with a (as suggested) non powered servo or some other means & you should be fine.
