TRX 2.5 idling problem, needs help
good day all,
i have this problem on my tmaxx 2.5.
when you rev high or run on wide open throttle, the idling does not return to normal or drop down.
there's no problem with the carb, i checked it and the throttle is 1mm from close position but the idling is still very high.
in the first few minutes of running, the engine seems to be fine but after around 5 mins of running then this problem occurs.
please anyone give me advise
thanks

It could be your carb getting stuck. Check and see if your carb moves smoothly and freely open and close. If not then hit it with some wd 40 and all problems solved.

i checked the carb, but the throttle opening is almost close but still the engine rpm is very high. i've already loosened the idling screw so the carb will close.
afterburn
i tried leaning out and richening the mixtures but still the rpm very high.
engine has no low rpm, just keeps revving even if the carb almost close.
it's making me crazy on how to keep my trx run fine.
i've tried 3 types of fuel, 15 and 20 nitro, even bought a fresh gallon but still no luck.
checked the piston and sleeve and still have very good fit ( run my trx only for about a can of soda of fuel before this problem arise )
please guys any more ideas? can't afford to buy a new engine
thanks again

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh sounds like you have a possible air leak some where. i had this problem with a brand picco .21 engine. man was i man mad. that thing ran like a champ for the first five minutes but when things got to temp thats when it did the same thing. i found that the o-ring was pinched. replaceed it still no luck so added a o-ring where the hsn housing screws to the carb and wah lah gone.
what happens is when they get to operating temps the metal kind of shrinks and thats when it happens. one other thing to check yoour carb might have moved in a crash and its getting air thru there.
stay with it and keep us posted

I agree with what you are saying but metal expands when it is hot. The problem is when you have two differant types of metals right next to each other and they have differant molecular compounds that makes them expand and contract at differant rates. When they are cold everything fits tight, as they expand one expands faster than the other and creates a gap.

Check to see that you seal your fuel tank correctly and that the lid clsoes tightly and possibly replace your fuel lines.
