SO today I did this jump and it wast even high, on of those slanted curbs and i hit for the jump. it flipped w/ the front hitting the ground, then flipped around twice. Now the headers broke.


do any of you konw what kind of header will fit it?? or would i have to get the THS header???

Man, someone said that their THS header broke so quick. I wish i saw it before i bought this[:@]

I broke my header on my THS pipe last year, but I was attempting a double-backflip(didn't quite make it). The header sits pretty close to the shock tower screw and it's a pretty fat pipe. During a hard hit chassis flex could put enough force on the header and crack it. I'm surprised such a low impact broke yours. When I broke mine I called THS asking about another header and he said he would swap it out for free if I sent him the damaged one. You can also purchase just the header. I bought one for a backup and told him to send it out while I send the damaged one back for replacement, so I have a spare incase it happens again(which it hasn't). I still love the pipe and if I got another T-Maxx I would buy the same one again. Everytime you jump you roll the dice, especially if you don't land on all fours.

Oh yeah, I don't know if any other headers will fit.

I called him to purchase a replacement. I chatted for a little while, then he said he would replace my broken one. I still bought one which he sent. Then I sent my broken one back and he sent me another one. So I have 2, 1 I bought which he sent right away, the second one I got a week or so later after he received my broken one. I don't know if he offers a replacement plan to everyone but he did mine. If you broke it once you may break it again. So a backup isn't such a bad idea. Or just try a different pipe if it's not working out for you. You could put the stock one back on in the meantime. But you'll hate it.

I broke my THS header the very first day i put it on. All i ended up doing was using the stock header with a silicone coupler, it worked. But, i ended up getting a Traxxas blue pipe.

Good news, I emailed them explaining my problem and such and they said they will send me a new one w/out charge!

I found a shot of my broken header along with the other damage from my failed double backflip. It took quite a bit of force do break my header as you can see from the shock tower that snapped at the thickest part. Also here's an old picture when I first put the pipe on and before I installed my spider chassisyou can see(little fuzzy) how close the header sits to the shock tower screw. That's a fat header. In the shot with the broken arms, I couldn't even find the upper arm after that blow. THATS BASHIN!!! bashed myself right to the bank.

Actually, I don't think that was the time I broke the shock tower in that spot because the pipe doesn't look broken in that picture.

I've never tried a THS pipe on my MT's, but when THS first started selling pipes several local guys put them on their 8th buggies and every one of them had he mounting spring pull through the mounting holes.
