tranny problems
I just bought a used tmaxx (first gen) and if i spin the spur gear with my hand the wheels dont move. On all my other rc cars i have owned when i spin the spur gear it moves the wheels. Is this normal? I have never dealt with a 2sp tranny or a tranny with reverse so i thougth i would ask. thanks

Yes its fine aslong as reverse is in there. It operates on a centrifugal clutch system like your clutch under your clutch bell.
