well... you will need to read up a lot before trying it.. obviously you need to be educated on what to do or you can stuff your engine... try typing NITRO ENGINE MODIFICATION into google and see what you get, there are articles giving ideas on basic mods... I say go for it man , its fun and satisfying ! i know i do it for a living and i LORVE IT !!!

if you're thinking of doing anything to a traxxas 2.5 engine, don't bother, pretty much everything that you could even think of doing if you have to ask that question is done for you by the factory, which is why the engine is so touchy and weather dependant
if you're thinking about a traxxas pro .15 and you have a steady hand, I can give you a couple pointers and a link, but it's way too late for that now when I have to be up in like 6 hours...
