i would be doing mostly dirt forest paths and rocky places with the occasional pit of thick mud. I want something fast that would be able to handle well for me, but not too low to the ground, and also tough. Many people say to go the the Savage 2.5 but since i havent tryed either im still debating between the two. any unbiased opinions would be cool.

you might try a lst or mgt. revo is more racier and lower to the ground. but it is a great truck. stay away from savage. imo

Either a revo or LST would suit your needs perfectly.

the revo is not lower to the ground..because it has no chassis braces it has as much ground clearance if not more than any other truck..the body and upper chassis layout is lower for better handling.the revo is great for a first truck.and yes it's a real monster truck that happens to be an alwsome racer.

jumps great. most monster trucks dont take fast downhill corners very well though.
