Spanking new Revo stalling on Full throttle??
Hi everyone. First time poster here so be gentle.
Picked up a new revo last week and had some fine weather on the weekend to run it in. I did everygthing by the book and all was progressing well up until the last tank (tank 5). During this tank the instructions say that the revo should change into second gear but mine was not. I had plenty of oil coming out of the pipe the whole time so it was running on the rich factory setting for break in. As soon as i started to lean out the high speed needle (1/16th turn up to 1/4 turn in total) the truck would die while trying to hold the throttle at full for 2 seconds (3 seconds up to full throttle for 2 seconds). Anyway, i finished the fifth tank packed up and went home for the after run clean up. I pulled the glow plug and it looked like new. Any help would be welcome at this stage.
Thanks in advance guys and girls.

Your high speed needle is too lean...like basher said, richen it up some, I'd check and see where your high-speed needle is set, make sure it is at 4 full turns out from closed.

Thanks for the advice so far. I did reset the high speed needle to 4 turns out from closed but it still wouldn't shift into second. There still seems to be heaps of blue smoke coming from the pipe at full throttle at 4 turns and even when i lean it out slightly. I'm guessing that drops of oil out of the pipe mean it is running rich enough?

I'll give the shift point a go. Thanks everyone. Is there a rule of thumb as to the max amount of adjustment you should not go past when leaning the engine?? That would be some useful info.
