Airtronics 358, Hitec 645, 945. you will need to get part number 5345X as well to make the servo horns work with non-traxxas servos.

Drew, that's an Airtronics servo, and I see NO need in going to Hong Kong for a freakin' servo, even if it saves $10 or so overall (and I'm not sure it does!!).

And it's clear he want's a really GOOD servo...coreless motor, 200ish oz. torque @6V, .15 sec. 'speed' at 6V (or faster). The 645 is mediocre at best..it's good VALUE, but not that great a servo

I have a Hitec 5945...a nice option. But Hitec's new titanium gear servos seem to be the most capable out there, and the ti gears are just a bonus on toppa the performance They're a LITTLE more than you mention ($115 each), but check them out!!:

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXHZR9&P=0 333oz. torque ( [X(][X(][X(] ) .15 sec speed

That seems too good to be true..it's NOT a jumbo re. it's size. So why the hell do they offer these at the same price??

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXHZR7&P=0 250 oz/.19 speed
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXHZR5&P=0 181 oz/.14 speed
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXHZR3&P=0 111oz/.10 speed

Anyhoo....ti gears/coreless motors/ball bearings. Hard to argue with them...ESPECIALLY the first one!! .15 sec speed is PLENTY fast for MT use, and that torque is OBSCENE!!

Dean

I wasn't slamming you or the servo...just the idea that it makes ANY sense to get it thru Hobby People in HONG KONG!!!! MAYBE that makes sense on a $700 truck/buggy where you're saving $75-100, but certainly not radios or radio accessories. Those kinda things can crap out, and if they do, Hobby people ain't gonna help you (or if they do, it'll be a HUGE...LONG hassle).

NO warranty...NO support, and it's only $19 cheaper than going thru Stormer (WITH US warranty...WITH someone you can get on the phone if needed)...BEFORE you figure in shipping. I dunno what they'd charge to ship from HK, but I'm guessing about $15-20 (insured)...Stormer would probby be $5-6.

"Your" servo is the Airtronics 94358...one that's been out a LONG time...one that someone mentioned in this thread...one that's long enjoyed a deserved rep. as a great steering servo.

Thnx for the feedback everyone. Sorry I couldn't return faster so I could be in that 'disagreement'. D*** guyz I was just asking a question. Everyone is gonna have a different opinion on what they like/dislike. So my next q is why are all four of those servos on site the same price?

I dont know if they are any good and maybe one of these fellas could help you out but www.nitrohouse.com has servos for real cheap with lots of trq. The one I was looking at was 195 in oz trq in .16 sec 60 degrees at 6V for less than 40.00$. But like I said I have no experience with them. Maybe someone who does could help us out.

If you have upgraded your radio sysem, then this http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXUZ86&P=ML just remember, digital servos should not be used wth a stock radio.
If you still are using the stock sysstm, then this is a good bet... http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXUZ89&P=ML another good bet is http://nitroobsession.proboards79.com/index.cgi check it out.

with all servos setting your endpoints is real critical to performance and servo life, and at a 100.00 usd a pop, it becomes even more important. make sure if you have the option on your tx to set epa's, to do so.

Hi-tec RULES I have a 5995TG 330oz torque .15 sec @6v. $109.00 on ebay new.

second, I have a hi-tec 5945mg in my 1/8th scale buggy. It crapped out last week and I sent it in. 5 days later I get a brand new servo in the mail. You cant beat that kind of service.

Do what you want, Im just stating facts that I know.

just remember, digital servos should not be used wth a stock radio.
So THAT'S the reason why my steering has been so strong & trouble free!!

I've been running a digital 5945 Hitec for 3 years w/my stock radio...never had an issue. I have a huge battery, though (2700mah), so the fact that digitals use more power has never been a factor. Other than that, digital servos work FINE with the stock radio, Kiff!
