Front & rear bulkhead Difference?
I am wondering why the Front and Rear Bulkheads are alittle different.
As you can see in the picture, 2 of the 4 bulkheads are slightly angled upwards. The 2 front bulkheads are angled but the 2 rear are not. I have never noticed the angle until I purchased new Aluminium ones. I also see there is a slight difference in where the Bumper mounts mount to. Anyhow, I will be putting them in the right places, but was curious as to why the front needed to be angled slightly.
Thanks guys

RE: Front & rear bulkhead Difference?
the upwards angle for the front bulkheads is for positive caster. caster is an imaginary line (that goes through the pivot balls on pivot ball trucks)
basically, look at a motorcycle. notice how the forks extend out, away from the rest of the bike? that's caster. the reason that caster is important is for high speed stability. the less caster you have, the more direct steering you have, but at the same time the truck will start to try to steer itself.
trust me, caster is a good thing

Ya the Guy at my LHS says its more for the angle of the skid plate, so the front is angled kinda like a ski. And then he mentioned something about Caster as well. Basically he said to make sure that you put the front on the front and rear on the rear..lol

RE: Front & rear bulkhead Difference?
Off road needs more agressive castor....as you hit a bump, if th eshocks were not angled at all or very little the shock action would be straight up and down....this would cause the front end to hop as it hit bumps....if they are angled back a lil (like they are) the bump gets absorbed more rather than deflecting......buggies just kick the chassis up......the guy at your hobby shop is a dink.....if you ask a technical question and get some stupid off the top of his head answer I'd question it (and research it on the forum)....I expect to get real answers from people supposedly in th eknow...it sucks when dinks like that give people half assed answers...
