Default just broke in my revo, i dont think i did it right

please look, help me out!!!!

ok this is gonna be a lil long, so i can explain what i did

well first off i when i was on my first tank when i pulled it to 1/4 throttle it would just idle and a higher rpm, and wouldnt move, so i had to go 1/2 throttle, i did that for the first 2 tanks

i figured id check out the temp of the motor just in case, when i did it was only 170????, i was like ***....btw it was 68-70 degrees out, this is when i had the body on, so i was like, well ill lean it out when i i get done breaking it in, so i do all the break in, and start tuning it

i leaned it out till it was idiling good, good accelaration, the temp was 230, is that ok?

last thing is when i was comming home i wanted to show my mom the revo, well the optidrive was blinking red, but since i was gonna barely run it and i THOUGHT the throttle return spring would stop it from running away i ran it anyways....well...it ran away from me, why did this happen, why didnt the throttle return spring stop it, was it because the battery was low?

anyways im getting a failsafe asap

sorry for the length but i really need to know asap, thanks

Did you watch the DVD and read the directions on how to break it in? The red light was flashing because the battery was low on the Revo.

No, the trs will only return the throttle to neutral if the power to the reciever dies completely. When the batterys get low they let the reciever start to glitch. When it glitches it still has the power to work the servos. The trs will do absolutely nothing to stop that.
A failsafe will stop those kinds of runaways.
230 degrees is fine. It could even be a bit warmer and still be fine.

Get a failsafe. It will prevent run-aways if you lose radio contact.

As long as you watched the DVD and followed the procedure's in the manual to the T, you will be fine.
