the best advice is NOT to go aluminum. RPM is a better deal, lifetime warranty, lighter, cheaper.

Integy makes an aluminum reciever case along with a lot of other stuff, here is a link that has tons of different companies that make aluminum maxx parts.

Hi all, new here. I made the mistake of buying one of the smartech magicwheels. But untill it breaks it is what it is. I've put the o.s. 18 cv in it and it moves along preety darn good. Must say that is one easy motor to tune compared to the pos that comes in the truck stock. Other things I've done are custom bumpers, rollcage aluminum shock towers,Ths 1040 header with a 1045 pipe, and piggy back shocks. My plans are to thrash it and replace the junk that breaks with aftermarket stuff. By the time I'm done with it, it will be a nice unit and nothing on it will be smartech.

I forgot to mention that I did try to use the stock tmaxx engine mount, but it put the engine too far back to get a decent mesh with the cb and spur gear. Plan on useing it when I upgrade the chassis.

[link=http://www.greathobbies.com/products/productinfo.php?prod_id=OSM18CVRSX]This is the motor and the price I paid.[/link] Got the clutch of of ebay for 15$ us. the stock pipe would work but it won't be the best. The 18 is a semi big block and needs a better set up than the stocker to run to it's full potential. To fit it it's just a matter of fliping the mount. The pipe header combo i got off ebay to. paid 26$ us for them. The only other thing you need is [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/Traxxas-Clutch-Adapter-Nut_W0QQitemZ6034090232QQcategoryZ44028QQcmdZViewI tem]one of these.[/link] It makes the clutch for the 2.5 tmaxx work with the short shaft os engine. [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/Traxxas-Revo-TRX-2-5R-CLUTCH-FLYWHEEL-KIT-T-Maxx-2-5_W0QQitemZ6034447630QQcategoryZ44028QQrdZ1QQcmdZV iewItem]This is the same clutch I got.[/link]
did the pics I put up not work?

You don't tune pipes. If it says it is a tuned pipe it means it is designed for a certain engine

The tooth count is 20. That other clutch would work but 16 teeth would take alot of topend away. And yes it is the engine mount that you would turn around. That or just get an adjustable mount and be done with it.
