ok i was going to get new parts and now i dont know if i can. my engine wont stay running its tuned right and the glow plugs good but its getting too hot even when running slightly rich. could this be caused from my air filter getting clogged up fast and would a motorsaver airfilter fix this problem. the air filter is the only thing i can think of thats causeing the problem it also seem to sometimes die in top end like it wont shut off but it will lose power and not shift into second but once im off the gas and it slows back down it will act normal again and drive good please help

retune to stock flat out stock settings and make sure your head is on tight(cooling head that is!!).. dont worry about the filter because that is not your problem.. 2 words to fix this, air leak... yea running too lean if its gettin to hot, so set back to stock 2.5 is flush on the lhs and 4 turns out upstairs?? i think... and then replace the fuel lines check the tank for any leak, easy way to do this, take it off clean it off good fill it up, blow through it with one end and plug the other, just dont blow the fuel lines off!... if there is no fuel on the tank now you are good to go, and also tighten the screw for the tank lid.... if you still have a problem check the carb, on the 2.5 the plastic around the hsn is known for cracking... if this doesnt work then you just crossed off a few problems...
good luck
if you need more details pm me..

look to your crank case ends, if your ends are a touch loose this will also cause your problems... pull the engine take the starter sytem off and check it all throughly, i have to do this tonight wiht my picco 21 as i think i too have an airleak

problem solved possibly i took off the ez start and tighten the back plate a lot each screw move 1/4-1/2 turn pretty easy so i snugged that all back up and the screw that holds the carb on also was slightly loose but nothing like that back plate it amazed me that that was the problem because my t-maxx never had engine problems until about the 3rd gallon and then it kind of died on the 4th. and now its just waiting it turn to be up graded or maybe i will sell it as a roller not sure
