RE: New Jato 3.3 !!!
Yeah, the 4-tec looks nice too. The 3.3 is a lot of power for the Jato. However, it handled great with the 2.5, which was obviously a lot of power for the 4.5 lbs truck. In my opinion, the more power the better. The more speed the better. There's nothing more satisfying to me than seeing a nitro model go ballastic as pebbles smack my glasses, lol. I'm thinking about buying it, if I do, I'm gonna upgrade the shafts and that's about it.

RE: New Jato 3.3 !!!
The video demonstrations show an impressive handling truck. I get the feeling Traxxas worked out all the handling and power issues before bringing it out. Keep in mind that when the 3.3 engine came out, they also gave us the option to upgrade the 2.5 Jato to a 3.3 engine. I think they knew what they were doing beforehand.
The feeling of having 0-60 mph in 4.2 in awesome! I mean, at this speed you can literally race is with a bullet bike!!!....and I plan on doing that...My friend has a Yamaha FJR, limited edition, I'm gonna give him some competition...lol...
adios!

Try and keep it straight on a track. LOL. Too uncontrollable in my opinion. Have driven the 2.5 and that has more than enough power for that truck. Again just my opinion

RE: New Jato 3.3 !!!
If it the jato was also sold in 4wd with the trx 3.3 then I think a lot of people would buy it. Also I think a 4wd system would help it because having that big of an engine in that small of a car might be hard to control. But what do I know, my revo still has a trx 2.5r and when it starts to crap out I'll try out porting and polishing.

can anyone tell me why they re-released the traxxas nitro sport? the nitro rustler is better and the jato is better yet again. doesn't make sense. and why with an old old engine?

RE: New Jato 3.3 !!!
That's what I said, about the engine at least. Well it covers a broader market if they have more stuff. And the reason they use the old engine is because they say it is easy to tune. Which is why they say if you are thinking nitro then this is where you start. Nice car but I would not go any lower than a rustler because of the aluminum chasis. I was thinking of getting some kind of nitro for my brother. A rustler maybe because I think that will be the cheapest on ebay.

RE: New Jato 3.3 !!!
lol...I couldn't agree more, keeping it in a straight line would probably be really difficult. However, some fine tuning would help....Without doubt the engine is too powerful for the 4.5 truck, but that's the beauty of it! That's exactly why I would buy it, I love the outrageous power and speed. However, I will not race it, I would keep it for strictly off/on road fun..
I'm pretty sure traxxas will come up with a 4wd soon.
Adios!

RE: New Jato 3.3 !!!
Exactly! I dont care about racing or any other competition, I love the hobby because it's fun, I dont want any work involved in the hobby other than basic service.
I thinking of buying one, but I also want the new HPI Baja...although, it would probably be best to wait until all the bugs are worked out. I bet they will come out with a better one in less than a year. Most likely a 4wd, stronger engine, etc...The RC model world is very predictable, just when you think you have the best, something else comes out that's better....

RE: New Jato 3.3 !!!
Well, tower's got it listed for $419. If you ask me, thats a rip-off!! The only difference I see is some tire change and the new 3.3 engine I dont see how that pumps the price up 50 dollars.

It comes with new wheels and tires, new 3.3 engine, new resonator, new shell, new wheelie bar, swaybars so it isnt just a " tire change and the new 3.3 engine".

RE: New Jato 3.3 !!!
Just seen the vids. I hope anyone who buys it finds a nice big open, unused parking lot for it. And buy lots of front end plastic parts for when you hit everything. LOL

RE: New Jato 3.3 !!!
i have the 4 tec WAY to much power with the 2.5 now the 3.3 even the pros couldnt handle this thing imn my opinion they should ofrerealesed the 4 tec with a stiffer chassis first then the new 3.3 not just droping a 3.3 in the old loose chasis

RE: New Jato 3.3 !!!
I would think you need a REALLY flat open area for the 4-tec. At 70mph a tiny bump could be devistating. But until you hit that bump it prolly be awesome.

The new jato 3.3 is great I love the fact that it has so much power running half throttle is fast enough sometimes. The power on demand is great also traxxas did a very good thing.

RE: New Jato 3.3 !!!
I love my JATO 3.3 because of the lightweight which makes it go fast. If you are waiting for 4wd, buy the REVO 3.3, it is a heavier truck.
