remove the glow plug, put a few drops down the hole, then remove the air filter and put a few more drops down there, then turn the motor over a few times to lub it all up, and thats it.

remove your air filter and put it in the carb opening.

OR just use WD-40 in the plug and carb.

I wasn't quite sure where to put the after run oil in as well. I have been taking the air filter off and putting a few drops in the carb then turning it over, but i was reading on o.s web page looking for the right glow plug and stumbled upon the after run oil. They say not to put it in the carb because it will eat the seals over time. I don't like the idea of taking the glow plug in and out that much plus i think even if you blow it out good with an air compressor you still run the risk of dropping dirt in the cylinder. So i would say the best place is a few drops in the carb and turn it over...

No I would not use air filter oil as an after run oil. I dont think that the air filter oil will prevent rust from happening which is the reason for aftre run oil. But do not use WD-40 as a after run oil either. It will ruin the rubber seals, and doesnt coat the engine internals all that well. Along with other problems that people have encountered while using WD-40 as after run oil. I do not suggest putting the after run oil through the glow plug hole either as dirt tends to get nto that area and if you put the aftre runoil there it tends to not always go directly into the hole and tends to fall to one side or another. It then gets dirt in the oil then that goes directly into your engine. Thats defeats the purpose as your trying to extend the life of your engine not shorten it. Putting the oil through the carb is best as it coats everything down through and then coats the engine's internals also.

Just take your time to think about things as a lot of things just make sence if you think about it long enough.

TRAXXAS recomends wd-40. Wow if u were like me and worked in iowa on mowers and crap u kids would no. WD-40 evaporates moisture and prevents corrosion and it lubes. Traxxas sells this ity bity bottles of after run saying here use this. Its just another way for them to make money. Does anyone want to know the truth of after run oil. Its transmission fluid. Thats it. Nothing more. Must i say more.

I wouldn't use wd40 for after run oil either, in another post i was told to use that to clean the air filter oil out of my foam motor saver. If it will take the oil out of the filter what do you think it will do inside your cylinder. I would guess it will break it down and that mean parts touching. After run oil is thicker then wd40 and will coat and stay on the internal parts better.

WOW. please people learn. The after run and wd-40 get burnt up as soon as u run ur engine. They put oil in the nitro to lube it. WD-40 just gets poistere out. After run oil is transmission oil.

WD 40 stands for water displacement formula number 40. It displaces water but is not a lubricant. It provides a small amount of rust and corrosion protection.
The most important single thing to do is to make sure that all fuel is ran from the engine and that the tank is completely dry. The methanol in the fuel absorbs moisture and the nitro will react with brass / bronze and form an acid. The filter stone in the tank is made from bronze and the engine backplate has a brass bushing in it.
While the engine is still warm empty the tank and turn the engine over until it will not hit(fire) at all.
Two good after run lubes are Marvel Mystery Oil and Mobile One Synthetic.
If you run any of the Morgan Fuel blends then after run is not needed, just run engine dry.

If traxxas suggests it, don't do it. Simple as that.

O.S says 50% Marvel Mystery Oil and 50% automatic transmission fluid = after run oil
