Hi all,

I killed my Traxxass 2.5r engine about 7 months ago, and have never bothered replacing it. well now I want to, but with a 7 month gap, I dont know whats hot, and whats not.

Anyone out there have any good suggestions for a motor that will drop straight in (no mods)

if you could suggest both a budget motor and a performance motor I would greatly appreciate it!

TRX2.5r - $105.00 shipped thru Traxxas engine exchange program
TRX 3.3 - $135.00 shipped thru Traxxas engine exchange program
OS.18 TM - $220.00 plus $9 shipping from Tower Hobby

All three are direct drop in's - easy swap outs. Takes about 30 - 45 minutes total
Both the OS or the 3.3 will be a big improvement over the 2.5. My personal choice would be the OS but you'll be fine with any of them.

lanier, those links dont work. And get a TRX 3.3 engine. Everyone i see is starting to come around to them. There as powerful as anything out there. My 3.3 can beat a OS 18TZ and i dont even have a gallon on my 3.3 yet. It should be starting to open up this week.

Still, look at that 3.3 engine. It produces the most power and speed out of an engine at that price. I bet everyone would agree with me on that one.

Thanks for the replies. the 3.3 sounds like a good idea. I did like the 2.5r, although the carb that came with it was seriously bad. i replaced it with an OS engine slide carb, and that fixed the issues I had.

now all I gotta do is find a LHS that can get me one at a decent price.
