RE: 3.3 vs OS 18TM
The 18TM is a better running motor, with a smother band and more consistant tuning.
However, the 3.3 has more low in power IMO, and for racing that is almost always a good thing.
I like both engines, but if you have both on hand I would drop the 3.3 in for the weekend. Get some extra grunt out of the truck.

RE: 3.3 vs OS 18TM
Never used the .18 but like the ladies say bigger is always better...
Anyhoo my 3.3 revo will wheelie or flip without the use of full throttle..just a good hit and up comes the front, no tuning issuies either. I have almost 1/2 gallon through it and it will idle all day long, and has a great powerband. I say go with the bigger engine....

2fast... bigger is not always better...
as far as your 3.3 pulling up the front with a hit, not to come down on you but my tm will pull my maxx up with no problem, did i mention that i run big joes and bead loc wheels... if i am correct there is more weight there than a stock size wheel/tire combo
as for me i love traxxas but they screwed up when they started making engines, and i have run os for years in planes and about a year in my maxx

RE: 3.3 vs OS 18TM
I really have no place in this thread I was just adding my opinion on the trx 3.3, like I said I have never used the tm .18.
But on another note my truck is about 1 1/2" longer than yours So even with the lighter wheel combo it's bigger, well longer anyway.[X(] Just adding a little fun but you know what I mean it takes more to pull the front end up, also my sus. set up is extremely cushy and soft, I have no pre-load on the shocks so I'm actually suprised it can even do a wheelie..

RE: 3.3 vs OS 18TM
hmm... u do have a point with the longer thing... i forgot they extended the new revo chassis...
but its going to come down to personal opinion nomatter how it works out you have the tm and 3.3 so run the one that you are used to running for a race, it may not be the more powerful one or the quickest but a race isnt always about the fastest vehicle... its the more consistant, better driver...... on that note... i am racing a 4tec as soon as it warms up, i know im going to get my truck(lack of better word!) handed to me, but im going to try and do what i can, its an oval about 30 yards around... now ask yourself do i have a chance, well actually i do because the guy i am racing against has only been driving for 2 months and i have been driving for almost 4 years now... actually the plan is to let him come up to lap me the first time, smash the break and make him eat my rpm bumper... then after this we are having a tug of war, just because i want to see a 4tec roast the tires trying to go forward!

Exactly. The Novarossi will kill almost, if not, every engine out there, even though it's a .28
